| | In Print: Jeremy Garrett/ Entertainment Asylum Chat January 14, 1999 OnlineHost: Jeremy Garrett from LEGACY is chatting with us. Welcome Jeremy!
EA Jeremy: Thanks! It's great to be here.
Question: Any insights into upcoming episodes?
EA Jeremy: He wants to know some secrets. Well, the show is going to change a little bit in the next 6 episodes. Something drastic happens to my father. I'm not going to tell you what you have to guess. And my character gets a love interest. You may already know who that is because they've already done some dabbling in it. The week of the 28th the show is on every night at 9PM.
Question: Have you ever been on line before? What sites do you check out?
EA Jeremy: You know, I just got a computer and I'm just hooking into this Internet. I was in 1984 and I'm just coming into the 90's I've been doing a lot of travel research. I really love to travel and there are great sites on the Web. Like if you want to rent an apartment in Paris for a week, you can check out the prices and reserve it right there. You know what's a great one is where you can actually listen to a CD! Maybe it was EA! It Was! Last week, I went on your web site I was clicking on different CDs and it was great!
Question: Did you want to be an actor when you were little?
EA Jeremy: Well, that's a really good question because today I was actually thinking about that. When I was young, my folks, since I was eight or nine, my parents had season tickets to the opera. I grew up in San Diego and we had season tickets to the Old Globe. I was constantly going to the theater. I remember leaning over to my mom and saying, "Mom, I think I can do what they're doing up there."
Question: Hi Jeremy! I wanted to ask where you see CLAY going in future episodes, he has issues with Jeremy and Sean, both. Do you think the writers will tap into his jealousy as Sean is suspicion of Jeremy?
EA Jeremy: You need to call them immediately and send this to them. Because I tell them and they don't listen to me. I agree with you a lot. I feel that we know the other characters more than we know Clay. We haven't delved in deep to know why he's got all this angst inside of him.
Question: Were you on Sweet Valley High? I would like 2 know who inspired you to be the great actor that you are?
EA Jeremy: Well, thank you. Yes, I was on Sweet Valley High and I did that for two seasons. That was my first gig up here in Hollywood. And that was great. I had a lot of fun doing that. I've always sort of had the desire to create images, whatever it be - I love photography. If I wasn't doing this I'd be a photographer. And acting is a picture, when we watch it, it just moves and I've always been fascinated by the art.
Question: How does it feel to be famous?
EA Jeremy: Wow, it feels the same, basically. Well, I have a steady job and that's nice, but, yeah, you know I think it only changes if you let it. Well, that's not true. I guess some things change out of your control.
Question: What is your favorite episode of LEGACY?
EA Jeremy: My favorite episode is the one where Ace Winters gets shot and they have a little love triangle and he kisses her on the blanket by the river.
Question: Are you dating anyone? If you are, how has your job affected the relationship?
EA Jeremy: No, I'm not dating any one person or, for that matter, anyone. Of late, I've just sort of wanted to not get distracted and concentrate on my work a little bit. The funny thing is when you're dating someone...it's very distracting. When you're seeing someone and you know it's never going to turn into something. Where as when you know it's really good and you're really comfortable it's not distracting. And I've not found someone who I'm really comfortable with yet and I don't want to be distracted.
Question: Have you had the privileges of working with the big stars of Hollywood in your career?
EA Jeremy: Not yet. I hope it changes. Hopefully that will happen. I do like working with Brett Cullen who plays the father on the show. He's been doing this, as a working actor, for 20 years. I've learned a lot from him. For me it's nice to learn from a veteran of the business.
Question: Who is your favorite singer or group?
EA Jeremy: Well, I cannot deny it, because if you were to ask anyone who knows me they'd say it. My favorite singer is George Michael and Wham. I've got George Michael CD's from Paris and Spain that you can't get here. Anything George Michael, I've got it. I don't know why I laugh when I say this, because people look at me like, "What?" But listen, he's my favorite, but I also love the Gypsy Kings. I've been getting into a lot of drum and bass lately. This guy from England, Adam F. He's great. I love Wham, it's funny to me. I'm still playing Careless Whispers as loud as my stereo will go! LOL!
Question: Were you on an episode of NICK FRENO?
EA Jeremy: I was on Nick Freno. I played a very cocky, rich, preppy kid who thought he was God's gift to the world and at the end I got a bottle of ranch dressing dropped on my head which I hear is better for your hair anyway. And I think they did that take maybe two times.
Question: What do you want most for Christmas?
EA Jeremy: I really just enjoy being with my family. I want Wham's Greatest Hits for Christmas, is what I really want! LOL No! I just really like coming home. I live in Virginia right now. And it's just nice to be back with my family. What a pain that airport is to fly out of! Oh! Virginia has the most expensive tickets to fly in and out of, because it's such a pain to fly in and out of that place. There's no direct flights to Virginia. The last time I had to fly Guam to Virginia! NO! Just kidding!
Question: Do you have to wear uncomfortable clothes on the set of legacy?
EA Jeremy: No, they're not really that uncomfortable except for the riding pants. They're very tight and they cling to your body. Like good riding pants. You kind of want that wind resistance. So that's probably the most uncomfortable clothes I've worn. I don't like when they put me in bow ties. It's just not good. I don't like it. But the jackets are great because you walk with your head up.
Question: Is Ron Melendez as hot in person as he is on the show.
EA Jeremy: Oh my goodness! LOL! I just had dinner with Ron last night. Ron wears a lot of makeup! No! LOL Ron is a very handsome guy. In real life he is the same, if not more so. Yeah, Ron's a good one to be in love with. Yeah, and I've seen him with pictures of his hair chopped off, very short. He looks good with short hair as well. I could be his manager, because after the show is over I say he's going to cut off his hair and have a new look and it will be a whole new life for Ron Melendez. He might even just go to Ronny.
Question: I have some CARELESS WHISPERS for you. Like can I have a date?
EA Jeremy: LOL! Mis Jo, God, Thank you for sending in some Careless Whisper "To the heart and mind..." I'll break it out right now. I don't know where you live, so it might be a hard date to do. Thank you Mis Jo We could listen to Wham and have a nice time. It could be like a wham night. LOL!
Question: What other shows/movies should we look forward to seeing you in?
EA Jeremy: Well, right now because of the series, it's sort of difficult. My time is really taken up. But come March I've got a couple movies I'm looking at right now but nothing definite.
OnlineHost: Thank you for joining us!
EA Jeremy: Thank you very much.
