In Print: Jeremy Garrett/ ETOnline Chat

Wow, is he handsome! Jeremy is sitting here eating sushi and drinking a Cosmopolitan. Okay Jeremy, here's your first question.

ETQuest: What attracted you to "Legacy" as your next project?

Jeremy: First of all as an actor, I've always wanted to do a period piece, like, "Age of Innocence" or "Titanic." I've always dreamed of doing that, so when this came along during the pilot season, I was fortunate enough to come upon "Legacy" and I just knew this was the one I wanted to do. But the thing that is most important is that the characters in this show are just really genuine. They have ambitions and dreams just like everyone else, but they're real, they handle their problems in a real way, not some of the cliche ways that maybe we see on modern programming of today. The characters are very attractive to me, I mean anyone can tune in and there's a character for everyone. People will relate to the characters on the show. That's why- all around it was wonderful.

ETQuest: Where did you go to school? How long have you studied acting?

Jeremy: I grew up in San Diego, California. I went to school there and in high school I got started in live theatre. My parents always took me to the theatre and since my early teens I've been going to live shows, so maybe subconsciously I took a liking to it and then later it showed itself. I've been acting all my life but only for about five or six years have I done it professionally.

ETQuest: Do you really ride horses or is that a stuntman on the show?

Jeremy: It is NOT a stunt double- I want them to know this (laughs). I originally used to be petrified of horses, but the funny thing is my character loves horses and races them, so when Iarrived on the set I went everyday and I had to ride the horse and overcome this fear I had. And now you cannot pull me off the horse. I actually got a chance to race the horse, and with all of it's energy it's truly amazing.

ETQuest: Are you mostly on location or in the studio?

Jeremy: Well, we were shooting in Richmond, Virginiaall on location. We shot the pilot on the actual lot of Thomas Jefferson's house, the house where he grew up. We actually got to shoot inside the house, all of the interiors and exteriors are the house itself. And we will continue filming right there on that location.

ETQuest: Who inspired you to be an actor? Who do you admire?

Jeremy: They call it aperformingart, a lot of times it's about creating images whether they're real or unreal. And for some reason, it is always a treat for me to be able to create an image that people can watch and feel things from, whether they laugh or cry-just that they can be transported into an emotion. And to have that power is very appealing to me and maybe also it's a little escape for me. Just to be able to experience different things without having to lose who you are and going out of your own boundaries and having the freedom to do that. It's a nice escape for me.

ET Host: Okay Jeremy, I'm afraid I have to ask this one as it comes pouring in. Are you single?

Jeremy: I'm married I have seven children, and there are twins on the way! No, I'm kidding. Yes, I am single. Definitely.
